I'm an organisational psychologist. For twenty-five years I have diagnosed systems that look functional but are broken by design. In 2022, I turned those skills on my own energy bill — and on my neighbour's, which barely moved while mine tripled.

What I found wasn't a broken system. It was one working exactly as designed.
